For many Hawaii is that dream vacation that has it all: adventure, relaxation, beautiful beaches, golfing, greenery, snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, and much, much more.  However, to many Hawaii may seem like a foreign place and many people won’t know exactly how to make their Hawaii vacation that getaway that you will remember for a lifetime.

When planning your vacation, it is important to remember that although there are six Hawaiian Islands that you can travel to, there are really only 4 islands that are ideal vacation destinations: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii (also referred to as the Big Island).  Oahu can be considered the central island of Hawaii, since over 90% of the state’s population is located in Oahu and Oahu is home to Honolulu, the state’s capital and largest city, and Waikiki, the main tourist center in Hawaii.  Although Oahu is much more crowded than the other islands, it has the most to offer in terms of dining, shopping, and entertainment.  Attractions in Oahu include the Honolulu Zoo, Pearl Harbor, Sea Life Park, Polynesian Cultural Center, Wet n’ Wild water park, Hanauma Bay, and much more.  Maui is home to many luxury resorts, hotels, and condos, as well as attractions such as the Maui Ocean Center, the largest aquarium in Hawaii, Atlantis Submarine Ride, Whale watching, Haleakala National Park, and the historical whaling village of Lahaina.  The Big Island is popular for its active volcanoes, sparkling waterfalls, tropical rainforests, and black sand beaches.  The Big Island is the ideal destination for many outdoor activities.  Kaui is also popular for outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, and many water sports.
